How Familare came about.
Familare was set up in Kuala Lumpur after the founders noticed a pattern: families often had the intention to sort out household paperwork and improve how they communicated about shared responsibilities, but those tasks kept getting pushed back in favour of more urgent things.
The name comes from the Latin root meaning to be familiar — a quiet nod to the idea that household ease comes not from any single big change, but from becoming familiar with the practical side of home life in a structured, unhurried way.
The founders brought together experience in facilitation, document systems design, and adult education. The result is a small practice that offers structured, time-limited sessions rather than open-ended consulting. We hand families a finished product at the end — a binder, a printed handbook, a prompt deck — not an ongoing dependency.
Our sessions are delivered at our premises on Jalan Tun Razak. We keep group sizes intentionally small so each household gets enough attention during the session and leaves with materials that are actually tailored to their records and situation.
We do not offer legal or financial advice. Our scope is strictly educational and administrative — organising the layout of household records, designing shared reference systems, and introducing communication frameworks that help families discuss practical matters with less friction.
Since opening, we have worked with multi-generational households, young couples establishing their first shared records, and families who have experienced a change in circumstances and want to bring their paperwork and household communication back to a stable footing.

Siti Mahirah
Lead Facilitator
Siti designs and delivers the Family Conversation and Records Programme sessions. She has a background in adult education and community facilitation.
Amir Khairul
Document Systems Designer
Amir creates the labelling systems, binder templates, and printed handbooks that participants take home. He specialises in information design for non-specialists.
Nurul Zahra
Workshop Coordinator
Nurul manages session scheduling, group formation for the workshops, and participant follow-up. She ensures every booking runs smoothly from first enquiry to final session.
Our Standards
How we ensure every session is well-prepared.
Pre-session intake process
Before any session, we send a short questionnaire to understand the household's starting point. No session begins without a clear picture of what the family wants to accomplish.
Privacy and discretion
All household information shared during a session is treated with care. We do not share details between participant families, and participant records are held only for the duration of the programme.
Small group sizes
Workshops are capped at eight participants to maintain a focused, conversational atmosphere where every household can work through their materials with proper attention from the facilitator.
Quality-printed materials
All printed outputs — binders, handbooks, prompt decks, folder sets — are prepared in advance and reviewed for accuracy. We do not distribute photocopied or ad hoc materials.
Regular content review
Session materials are reviewed at least twice a year to ensure all reference frameworks, labelling templates, and agenda formats remain relevant and practically useful.
Clear scope boundaries
Every session opens with a brief explanation of what we cover and what falls outside our scope. We refer participants to appropriate professional services for legal, financial, or medical matters.
Our Approach
Document organisation and household communication as practical skills.
Many households in Malaysia accumulate years of paperwork without a system for finding what they need. Identity documents, property records, insurance summaries, utility account details, and family contacts each tend to end up in different places. When something needs to be located quickly, the time spent searching can be frustrating for everyone involved.
Familare's document workshops address this by guiding families through a structured approach to labelling, sorting, and housing their records in a shared physical reference. The goal is not to create an archive — it is to create a reference that any member of the household can use without needing to ask someone else where to look.
Communication within households about practical matters works better when there is a shared structure for the conversation. Our Family Conversation Session introduces simple frameworks and prompt cards that give a household a starting point for discussing schedules, household responsibilities, and short-term plans. This kind of structure reduces the chance that important topics are left unaddressed simply because no one felt comfortable raising them in an unstructured way.
The Family Records Programme brings both strands together — communication and records — over multiple sessions, ending with a household handbook that summarises the family's own reference structure. This is a document the household designs themselves, with our facilitation, so it reflects their actual situation rather than a generic template.
Our sessions are based in central Kuala Lumpur and conducted in English. We work with a range of households across the Klang Valley and welcome enquiries from families at any stage of their household organising — whether they are starting from scratch or looking to improve a system that has become unwieldy over the years.
